About The Role

Remuneration Package: Salary up to £63,367 pa for exceptional candidate

Great Yarmouth Borough Council is an ambitious local authority with big plans and massive opportunities ahead. Named ‘Council of the Year 2024’ in the Local Chronicle Awards, and with over £300 million of government and private sector funding recently secured through the Town Deal, Future Hugh Street Fund, Heritage Action Zone, UK Shared Prosperity Fund and DLUCH Long-term Investment Plan, the borough of Great Yarmouth is experiencing a demand for quality homes in our borough.

We have one of the most successful enterprise zones in the UK with Great Yarmouth being England’s offshore energy hub and Norfolk’s biggest seaside resort at the edge of the Broads National Park. Our borough is seeing a growing local demand for quality homes to complement our growing employment and skills opportunities triggered by regeneration investment.

Ensuring there are enough quality homes to meet demand of the right size, type and tenure across the borough is key to delivering the Council’s economic growth ambition and ensuring the wellbeing of residents.

The Council is looking for an experienced commercially minded and quality-focused housing development professional to support the Borough Council’s wholly owned housing companies: Equinox Enterprises Ltd and Equinox Property Holdings Ltd.

The Equinox Executive Officer post is a key standalone role so we’re looking for an exceptional all-round candidate to run both companies with support and direction from our company boards. The role manages the development of quality housing schemes as well as the management of our residential property portfolio.

Closing date for applications: midnight on Sunday 28th July 2024

Interviews will be held on: w/c 5 August 2024

If you would like to have an informal discussion about the role, please contact Equinox company director: Paula Boyce, on 01493 846450 or the Head of Property & Asset Management, Michael Horton on 01493 846845. For more information, please see www.equinoxhomes.co.uk

About You

The successful candidate will have the skills and experience to identify, appraise and bring forward new high-quality housing developments for sale or rent through the two Equinox companies working with the wider council team. If you are self-motivated, have a track record of successfully delivering housing development projects, understand the commercial drivers of residential property and development, and are able to build trust and confidence with investment partners and advisors whilst influencing and negotiating in a political environment, we’d love to hear from you.

If you are looking for a diverse, exciting role which allows you to build upon your passion for delivering high quality homes whilst working for an ambitious Borough Council that punches above its weight, the Equinox Executive Officer role is for you.
