About The Role

Ensuring there are enough quality homes to meet demand of the right size, type and tenure across the borough is key to delivering the Council’s economic growth ambition and ensuring the wellbeing of residents.

Could you be the Council’s Equinox Business Support Officer? Reporting to the Equinox Executive Officer, this post provides virtual office management and business support functions for Great Yarmouth Borough Council’s two wholly owned housing companies Equinox Enterprises Limited and Equinox Property Holdings Limited.

Duties include working with property and finance leads carrying out the administrative responsibilities of the companies and supporting business development. We are looking for an organised individual with good communication skills, both verbally and written able to demonstrate a commitment to customer care and motivating others to do the same. The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of SharePoint and IT applications in general. Experience of running and undertaking administrative duties in a property-related organisation would be an advantage.

About You

The right candidate for this role will have:

  • Good knowledge of a wide range of IT equipment and Microsoft applications including SharePoint.
  • Administrative experience in a busy office setting.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload.
  • Good communication skills, both verbally and written and be able to deal with members of the public in a sensitive and tactful manner face to face, by email and on the phone.
  • Researching and interpreting issues with good attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to provide balanced advice and guidance on a range of issues in a pressurised environment.
  • A good general standard of education including GSCE Maths and English.
  • Ideally a business administration qualification or relevant experience in a similar role.
