About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a accounts assistant to join our finance team. We are a small friendly team based in Town Hall and we are looking for someone to join us on a permanent basis as an Accounts Assistant.

You will be required to carry out daily cash management and invoice processing. Tasks will include assisting with cash management processes, purchase ledger & sales ledger invoice processing, posting journals, completing reconciliations and other administrative tasks. The systems used are unique to the Council and full training will be given to the successful candidate.

You should have good keyboard skills and be used to working with computerised systems both mainframe and software packages.  We are looking for someone who is methodical and conscientious. Whilst experience would be desirable it is not essential as full training will be provided

Your duties will include:

    • Receiving and dealing with enquiries from contractors/suppliers/customers and other council officers
    • Processing purchase ledger & sales ledger invoices, journals, reconciliations, and cash management
     
    This is a full time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on a hybrid basis.

About You

  • Good all round computing skills (including Excel and Word) and excellent keyboard skills
