About The Role

Are you organised, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting efficient procurement and contract management? We are looking for a pro-active person with some knowledge and/or experience of working with contracts to provide high-quality support to the authority -  liaising with our Finance, Legal and Procurement teams. This is beyond a purely administrative role and you will be required to research and participate in improving the Council's procurement and contract management processes.

In this role, you will be dealing with contracts, purchase orders, online procurement systems and databases.  You will need to build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners. You'll maintain contract registers, support meetings, and help keep policy and guidance up to date. 
 
You will work with the Council's external procurement team

• As a minimum, a basic understanding of procurement, contracts or financial administration & willingness to learn and develop in the role
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Proficiency in MS Office

About You

You will be a self-sufficient, pro-active person with an understanding of and interest in contracts and administrative processes and procedures
You will be able to organise and prioritise a varied workload
You have experience of working within a team and be flexible in responding to business needs 
You have experience of Microsoft Office and working in an office environment.
 
Ideally you will also have:
 
A knowledge or understanding of working in local government
At least a basic understanding of procurement and supply and/or contracts
 

 Qualifications & Skills

You will be educated to at least A-Level or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) or have relevant knowledge and experience:
- Effective organisational and time management skills to work to deadlines
- Able to work to high levels of accuracy and excellent attention to detail
Good IT skills- confident using a range of computer systems
Great communication skills
Numeracy – able to record numerical data and perform basic arithmetical functions
Ability to compile and analyse statistical information.
