About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Financial System Manager to join our finance/IT teams.

Reporting to the Financial Services Manager the successful candidate will be required to: 

  • Oversee the management, implementation, and optimization of financial systems for the Council and it's subsidiaries.
  • Lead system upgrades and integrations to ensure smooth and efficient financial reporting and recording of data.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify system needs and propose solutions.
  • Develop and enforce best practices for financial data integrity and security.
  • Provide support and training to users across the Council (& subsidiaries) on system usage and troubleshooting.
  • Manage system audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Analyse system performance and recommend improvements for operational efficiency.

This role provides an opportunity to provide a service to assist in supporting the Council in making a difference in the community it serves by providing and improving financial information and reporting from the financial systems.

This is a part time role working 22.2 hours per week, Monday to Friday (PT hours to be agreed), on a hybrid basis.

About You

Our Financial Systems Manager will have the drive to work autonomously with excellent communication and engagement skills. They should have experience in financial systems (general ledger, accounts payable, cash management, treasury, accounts receivable etc) and have strong computer skills, particularly with Excel.

A desire to ensure accuracy and integrity of data, with a drive for continuous improvement. They will need to be qualified to an A level or equivalent standard, potentially with some financial or accountancy qualification or experience.
