Great Yarmouth Borough Council is an ambitious Local Authority with big plans for the future. Parking Services have already implemented a number of changes which have modernised the way people can pay for parking and how we enforce parking contraventions by way of issue of Penalty Charge Notices. This continues to be an exciting period with aspirations to introduce new technologies to simplify and improve the experience of parking in Great Yarmouth.
The Parking Services Team carries out Civil Parking Enforcement throughout the Great Yarmouth Borough Council area from Martham and Winterton in the north to Hopton and St Olaves in the south. As part of the Norfolk Parking Partnership the team manage the on-street parking. In Great Yarmouth alone that includes the Residents Zone A of approximately 900 spaces and the sea front area with 46 pay and display machines and over 1100 parking spaces. In addition to this the team manage and enforce a portfolio of 21 pay and display car parks owned by the Borough Council comprising almost 2000 spaces. There are also a further 7 permit holder car parks.
This position involves patrolling on foot and enforcing the parking regulations in a given patrol area, identifying and responding to contraventions, issuing and recording Penalty Charge Notices in accordance with the appropriate legislation (Traffic Management Act 2004).
Please note, this role is part time - 30 hours per week (Thursday to Sunday).
