This is an opportunity to join a busy, friendly and professional Corporate Health and Safety Team ensuring the health, safety and welfare of Council employees and those affected by the Council’s activities.
We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and forward-thinking Health and Safety Advisor to join the team. Your main responsibilities will include managing your own caseload, providing health and safety advice to all elements of the authority, investigating incidents, near misses and concerns, carrying out inspections and audits of a variety of sites, promoting best practice in health and safety, and helping build a robust health and safety management system and culture in the organisation.
We are interested in receiving applications from people who are persistent, determined, patient, thorough, pay attention to detail, and can remain calm in stressful situations. You will need to be an excellent communicator and have both a professional and personable manner.
Applicants will already hold a diploma level qualification in health and safety or the equivalent. You will have experience in a health and safety advisor role or in a regulatory environment.
