About The Role

We are looking for a part time Leasehold Officer to work 18.5 hours per week to join our Housing Income Team on a Permanent contract to deliver a supportive service approach to 371 Leaseholders across the Borough of Great Yarmouth.

As a Leasehold Officer you are the first point of contact with our leaseholders delivering high standards of customer service. If you are self-motivated, have experience in communicating with customers, have a strong customer focus and are passionate about making a difference to people’s lives, this opportunity is for you we would really like to hear from you. 

The team is a busy customer facing service responsible for service charge billing and income collection in relation to the Council’s leaseholders and managing Section 20 consultation to meet legislation requirements.

It is a requirement of the role to have a driving licence and access to your own transport.

About You

  The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they have the following skills, knowledge, and work experience:
  • Experience of effectively using IT systems such as word, excel, outlook in order to prepare and maintain case records, communicate in writing at all levels and analyse written and numerical information. And the processing of complex information.
  • A minimum of 12 months experience of working in a demanding customer service environment.
  • Background in Housing Management – public sector housing, or private sector managing leasehold accounts and income collection at all levels of enforcement and arrears management.
  • Experience of Section 20 consultation, accountancy, providing excellent customer service and ability to relate and deal directly with all residents and those vulnerable. With the ability to take complex information and translate into clear information with advice and guidance.
  • Experience of working on own initiative, following procedures, assessing situations, and making decisions. And experience of managing a caseload.
  • A proven ability to multi-skill with experience of working in an office environment and lone working in residents’ homes.
  • Being performance driven to meet targets and deadlines in advance.
