About The Role

If you thrive on challenge and meaningful change, this is an opportunity to help shape the future of local government in Norfolk as our LGR Project Manager.

You’ll coordinate and oversee a range of Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) projects and workstreams, ensuring they are well planned, well governed and delivered to agreed standards. Working across the Council, you’ll keep activity on track, maintain clear documentation and ensure progress is clearly communicated in a complex and evolving environment.

What you’ll do

  • Oversee LGR projects and workstreams, working confidently with the Senior Leadership Team and senior managers to maintain clear governance and momentum.
  • Lead and monitor delivery, ensuring alignment with agreed objectives and work plans.
  • Produce and maintain clear, accurate project documentation and highlight reports.
  • Manage risks, issues, dependencies and change control in a structured and proportionate way.
  • Work collaboratively with officers and managers to deliver agreed actions.
  • Support internal communication by gathering and preparing timely, clear project information.
  • Stay aware of the wider strategic and national context shaping the LGR programme.

The role is predominantly office‑based, with some travel within and occasionally outside the Borough. There are no direct line management responsibilities.

Closing date for applications: midnight on Monday 20th April 2026

Interviews will be held on: Wednesday 29th April 2026

If you would like to have an informal discussion about the role, please contact James Dunne ([email protected]) or Simon Best ([email protected]).

About You

You’ll bring solid project management experience, strong organisation skills and confidence working with colleagues at all levels. You’re comfortable managing multiple priorities, maintaining robust governance and communicating clearly in a fast‑moving and sometimes uncertain environment.
