About The Role

Are you looking for a new challenge and a role which will allow you to build relationships which help people make a real difference to their lives?

We are looking for a Property and Assets Project Manager to lead on and deliver Property and Asset projects, supporting the wider council and ensuring that works are completed in a timely manner.

You will be responsible for the delivery of projects across a range of high value and varied properties within GYBC, you will be expected to support the Property and Assets Team as well as ad hoc projects from the wider council.

What will you be doing?

You will be responsible for managing and delivering Council Property and Asset projects, ensuring excellent governance arrangements throughout.

You will ensure that each project is managed using PRINCE2 principles, aligned to the organisation’s strategic objectives and ensure that benefits and outcomes are identified and realized within agreed quality, time and resource constraints

The post if offered on a permanent contract.

The property and Asset team are responsible for delivering management and maintenance services to the Council’s commercial, investment and office portfolio, comprising approximately 900 individual assets. The department collaborates closely with colleagues across the council along with partner organisations and contractors to deliver a challenging and varied workload. The Council benefits from having properties ranging in age between 5 and 150 years old, so there is always the professional challenge of fitting the latest technology and legislation into a wide variety of assets.

This role offers hybrid working arrangements requiring you to work from the corporate office buildings, make site visits as well as the flexibility of home working as appropriate.

About You

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they have the following skills, knowledge, and work experience:

  • Demonstrates practical experience of co-ordinating, leading and managing organisational wide projects using formal project management methodology
  • Demonstrates knowledge and experience of managing PRINCE2 structured projects
  • Experience of delivering projects and the ability to work collaboratively and influence others to achieve project outcomes
  • Experience of multi-disciplinary team working
  • Possess a clear understanding of the relevance of strong governance, financial and performance regimes
  • Experience of liaising with managers, employees and other stakeholders on a wide range of project issues
  • Demonstrates that they can manage multiple priorities
  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification
  • Qualification in Prince2 Project Management (or equivalent)
  • Ability to prioritise workload
  • Capable of achieving targets under pressure and against tight deadlines
  • Ability to self -motivate and deliver projects with irregular input from others
  • Clarity of thought and ability to process complex information
  • Ability to communicate across a range of levels of understanding
  • Influencing, persuading and negotiating skills
  • Partnership and consensus building abilities
  • Good presentation skills
  • Demonstrates good listening skills and is able to respond to the diverse needs of others
