This position is designed to support local communities and individuals in overcoming barriers to employment, contributing directly to the council’s commitment to strengthening skills, boosting local businesses, and enhancing pride in place.

This role requires a satisfactory Basic disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (known as a DBS check).

About You


  • You are a motivated and personable professional with a passion for community engagement and workforce development. Your ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders will be key to your success.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • The successful candidate will collaborate with partners including local schools, voluntary and community sector organisations, and training providers to increase access to skills development opportunities within community settings. They will be able to establish a visible and trusted presence within key communities, engaging with residents to build aspirations and pathways to employment. 
  • They will manage a caseload of individuals, including referrals from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), providing tailored support to address personal and social barriers, facilitate access to peer support, volunteering, and training opportunities.
