About The Role

Are you passionate about Environmental Health? Are you looking to be part of a dynamic team working within a seaside borough where no two days are the same?

The Borough of Great Yarmouth is an exciting place to work. It offers interesting and varied casework across both urban and rural settings along the east coast of Norfolk, including the Port of Great Yarmouth.

Great Yarmouth Borough Council is an incredibly ambitious local authority. We have a clear focus for our Borough, improving the lives of our residents and maximising opportunities for our businesses. Tourism and leisure play an important role in the local economy, from Great Yarmouth’s bustling Golden Mile seafront packed with amusements, attractions and restaurants, to the beautiful countryside dotted with windmills and access to the Broads National Park, with riverside pubs and tearooms.

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, and forward-thinking Environmental Health Practitioner, Senior Food and Safety Officer or Graduate Environmental Health Practitioner, to join our friendly and professional Commercial Team.

The key aspects of the role are food safety and health and safety, alongside infectious disease controls, food and water sampling, ship sanitation inspections and private water supplies. Experience in the more unique areas would be an advantage, although full training will be offered to the successful candidate.

About Us

You would be joining a welcoming and friendly team based at our historic town hall, with agile working also available.

A supportive learning environment in which you will be able to gain further experience under supervision for registration with CIEH (if applicable) or enhance your continuing professional development.
