Outreach Officer

We are seeking to recruit an Outreach Officer on a Fixed-Term for 3 years.

This role will act as a dedicated single point of contact to coordinate and deliver timely support for individuals experiencing homelessness. The post holder will work collaboratively across services to ensure a prompt, joined-up response that enables access to suitable and sustainable accommodation solutions.

The role involves providing personalised guidance and accompanying individuals to relevant appointments, ensuring a targeted and person-centred approach. Working in close partnership with enforcement teams and other key stakeholders, the post holder will help to prevent the reoccupation or recycling of vacated caravans and contribute to the delivery of effective, long-term housing outcomes.

The post holder will be a proactive and compassionate individual with a strong commitment to supporting those experiencing homelessness. They will have the ability to build trust and maintain positive working relationships with individuals, colleagues, and partner agencies.

A practical and solution-focused approach will be essential, along with the capacity to respond promptly and effectively to complex and often changing situations. The post holder will demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills, ensuring that individuals are guided and supported through appropriate pathways to secure sustainable accommodation.

Working collaboratively with enforcement and housing teams, the post holder will play a key role in preventing the reoccupation or recycling of vacated caravans, contributing to a consistent and coordinated approach to homelessness prevention across the local authority area.
