We have an exciting opportunity for a management accountant to join our Finance Team.
Reporting to a Senior Accountant, the successful candidate will be required to support the delivery of comprehensive accountancy and financial services to the Council. This includes the provision of advice and support to services, and technical areas including VAT and capital as required.
They will offer proactive financial advice and support to the Council service areas by working closely with budget holders to set and monitor budgets. They will provide financial oversight and advise on business cases for the services they assist looking at costings for efficiencies within service provision and practices or indeed, opportunities for new, or improved income generation plans. They will also support the annual production of the statement of accounts for the Council as well as responding to audit queries.
Beyond this it requires someone dedicated to the continuous improvement in the functionality of the financial service and the monitoring and reporting it provides to the Council and its services. The role requires the candidate to produce timely and quality data analysis to support the Council in its decision making and monitoring, including supporting services with business cases and completion of grant claims.
This role provides an opportunity to provide a service to assist in supporting the Council in making a difference in the community it serves by improving financial information and reporting to better support financial decisions made on projects based on business cases and when setting and monitoring budgets.
